Filing Period for East Kingston Town Offices
The filing period for East Kingston Town offices is January 25, 2012
through February 3, 2012. Candidates must be registered voters in the
Town, and apply in person.
The following is a list of elected positions open for the upcoming
Town election to be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
- Selectman 1 (3 yr. term ending 2015)
- Moderator 1 (2 yr. term ending 2014)
- Supervisor of the Checklist 1 (6 yr. term ending 2018)
- Road Agent 1 (1 yr. term ending 2013)
- Trustee of the Cemetery 1 (3 yr. term ending 2015)
- Trustee of the Public Library 2 (3 yr. terms ending 2015)
- Trustee of the Trust Fund 1 (3 yr. term ending 2015)
Those interested in filing may do so at the Town Clerks office.
Office hours are:
Mon: 8:00AM-5:00PM, Tues/Thurs/Fri: 8:00AM-2:30PM, and Wed:
6:00PM-8:00PM.
Please note that the office will be open Friday, February 3, 2012,
between the hours of 3-5PM, for any candidate interested in filing.
Presidential Primary Election News
Absentee ballots are now available in the Town
Clerk's office for the Presidential Primary Election to be held on
January 10, 2012.
January 3, 2012 will be the last day for the town
clerk to accept voter registration applications until election day.
An absentee voter must be registered to vote in
East Kingston, will be absent from Town on Voting Day, unable to come to
the polls due to physical disability, or a religious observance, or an
employment obligation requiring physical presence at work.
Requests must include your signature, East Kingston
address, and a mailing address if different from home address. You must
also note whether you want a Republican or Democratic ballot. Written
requests, for the ballot, can be mailed to the East Kingston Town Clerk,
PO Box 249, East Kingston, NH 03827, or applied for in person at the
Town Clerk's Office. The office will also accept faxed requests to
(603)642-8794.
Completed ballots, returned in person, must be
received at the Town Clerk's Office no later than 5:00PM, January 9,
2012, or received by mail by January 10, 2012.

Seeking members for the East Kingston Planning Board
The East Kingston Planning Board invites applications for Alternate
positions on its roster. Alternate members are appointed by the Planning
Board to act in place of Regular Members when those Members are absent
from meetings. Up to 3 additional positions can be filled at this time.
Residents with interest in land use policy and planning, economic
development, natural resource protection, or a general interest in the
health and welfare of the community are encouraged to apply. No
experience is necessary and training is available free of charge to
members. Letters of interest should be submitted to the Planning Board,
24 Depot Road, East Kingston, NH 03827.
The Planning Board meets once a month, on the third Thursday of the
month, and occasionally twice a month as the need arises. They are
responsible for updating the Town's Master Plan and review of and
decisions for residential subdivisions, commercial/industrial site plans
and home occupations.
